How do you get to the Itaipu Tourist Complex?
A guide to reaching the Visitor Reception Center from Foz do Iguaçu, Puerto Iguazú (AR), and Ciudad del Este (PY).
The Itaipu Tourist Complex (CTI) is based at the Visitor Reception Center (CRV), at Av. Tancredo Neves, 6702 – Jardim Itaipu, Foz do Iguaçu – PR, about 12 km from downtown Foz. From Foz you can get there by car, taxi, ride app, or city bus (lines 101/102 from the Urban Transport Terminal). If you're coming from Puerto Iguazú or Ciudad del Este, you first need to cross the border into Foz and then continue to the CRV.

The Itaipu Tourist Complex (CTI) welcomes visitors at the Visitor Reception Center (CRV), located at Av. Tancredo Neves, 6702 – Jardim Itaipu, Foz do Iguaçu – PR. This is where the dam tours depart from. The CRV is about 12 km from downtown Foz do Iguaçu, 38 km from the Iguaçu Falls, and 6 km from the Friendship Bridge.
From Foz do Iguaçu
By car: drive to the end of Av. Tancredo Neves. The CRV is on the right, a few meters before the dam's control barrier, with a large parking lot (daily rate of R$ 28.00, with a 50% discount for local residents). From downtown the trip takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
By taxi or ride app: the trip from downtown Foz to the CRV takes roughly 15 minutes. Check the current price or schedule on the attraction's official website..
By city bus: lines 101 – Conjunto C Norte and 102 – Conjunto C Sul depart from the Urban Transport Terminal (TTU) toward Itaipu, with a ride of about 30 minutes. The Foz city-bus fare is R$ 5.00; lines 101 and 102 go to Itaipu (source: destino.foz.br · Turismo Itaipu)..
From Puerto Iguazú (Argentina)
There is no direct public-transport link from Puerto Iguazú to the CRV. The route has two stages: first cross the border into Foz do Iguaçu via the Tancredo Neves Bridge, then continue from Foz to the CRV (see the "From Foz" section). International buses connect the Puerto Iguazú terminal with Foz's TTU; on those you must get off at immigration, complete the procedure, and reboard. Carry valid ID and complete your exit from Argentina and entry into Brazil, even on a day trip. Check the current price or schedule on the attraction's official website..
From Ciudad del Este (Paraguay)
Also two stages: first cross the border into Foz via the Friendship Bridge (on foot, by bus, taxi, or moto-taxi on the Brazilian side), then continue from Foz to the CRV (see the "From Foz" section). The Friendship Bridge often has heavy traffic at peak hours, so crossing early helps. Check the current price or schedule on the attraction's official website..
